Matteo’s

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

My family visited Matteo’s Pizza & Bistro on Fair Oaks Blvd with a Fox 40 photographer.  One of my good friend’s mom works there and she was our waitress.  She told me I should try the Mac & Cheese off the kids menu. She said it was the best in the universe and that sometimes even the grown-ups order it.  So I ordered that. When I tasted it, I thought it was warm and had very creamy cheese and it had lots of parmesan sprinkled on top.  Yum!  She was right, it was the best in the universe!  My brother ordered the cheese pizza. He loves pizza!  I got to try a piece too.  I though it was gooey and had lots of cheese and was delicious!  My brother says its the best he’d had.  I ordered my usual root beer and it was really good and creamy.  I like creamy root beer.  My mom and dad shared a Southwestern Caesar salad. I thought it had really good dressing and liked the tortilla chips that they put in it instead of croutons which gave it a nice crunch.  My parents also shared the Fettuccini Alfredo.  I tried a little bit.  It had bread crumbs on it and it was very creamy.  For dessert, my brother and I shard the ice cream sandwiches. They were house made and there was chocolate sauce and caramel drizzled on the plate.  The atmosphere was happy and comfortable. There were pretty flower paintings on the walls and flowers on the tables.  It sort of reminded me of spring.  I think this is one of the best places for family and friends to go. They’ve got great food and very kind people who work there.

You can see video of me reviewing this restaurant in the Fox 40 studio under the Videos tab.

Willies

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Willies is on the corner of Fair Oaks and Arden. We went up to the counter and we ordered a cheese quesadilla (no chicken), french fries, my brother ordered a grilled cheese which they didn’t have on the menu but they made him one on a hamburger bun, and a veggie burger for my mom and dad and beignets for everyone to share. You get a cup and go and get your drinks from the soda machine. It kind of looked like a diner. The quesadilla was huge, cheesy and thick. I loved it! The fries were not too salty, they were great and there were a lot of them. Spencer said the grilled cheese was way too good! I sort of like it too. My mom and dad said the veggie burger was good but I didn’t try it. They said it was really big. The beignets are like French doughnuts that are squares or triangles. They were a little hard to chew but they were very powdered-sugary and I liked them. They weren’t as good as the ones in Downtown Disney but they were good. I loved the food and it looks like a diner which makes it kind of unique. I think it’s a great place to go.
