Evan’s Kitchen
Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009When we entered Evan’s Kitchen, I noticed a really cute pig holding a wine bottle up on a shelf. It really looked a little home-like inside. On the menu, they had lots of choices kids would like. They had grilled cheese sandwiches, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese and mini burgers. I ordered the spaghetti and to me it tasted really good and had really good sauce. My mother said it tasted like her Nana’s, her great-grandmother’s, sauce. Two slices of garlic bread came with it. It though it was really soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. It wasn’t too garlicky or buttery–it was just perfect. My brother and I devoured the garlic bread. My brother got a grilled cheese sandwich that came with fries. I thought it was very crunchy and had amazing cheese. My brother liked it too. The steak fries were very large, salty but not too salty and very soft. I really liked them! My mom had a spinach, walnut, gorgonzola and pear salad and it was huge. It came with a roll. It was very soft, fresh and sweet. For dessert, we ordered the kids brownie sundae. It was a child’s dream–a warm gooey brownie with cold, sweet ice cream and fluffy whipped cream. My brother and I pretty much dove into it! Don’t worry, Mom got a taste too. I think this is a really great place for kids and could be a really good place for a child’s first experience at a restaurant because they have great children’s food and the desserts are yummy.
