Ernestos

My family and I visited Ernesto’s around Christmas time.  I thought the atmosphere was pleasant and festive.  There were lots of beautiful paintings including ones of Freda Kahlo and there was Mexican music playing.  There was also a big TV at the bar.  It smelled really delectable inside.  The brought fresh salsa and chips to the table. The salsa actually wasn’t too hot so its good for kids.  They also brought refried bean dip which I didn’t try but my parents loved.   We ordered some guacamole and they were able to make it without tomatoes for us.  It wasn’t my favorite because I’m not a huge fan of avocado but my parents loved it, especially my mother.  I ordered the cheese quesadilla off of the kids menu.  It came with rice and I loved it. It was really delicious. It was really well cooked and had a great, wonderful, Mexican flavor.  Each item on the kids’ menu is $3.99 and includes beans, rice and either nachos or salad.  The quesadilla was very delicious and had a lot of cheese.  It was one of my favorite things.  My brother ordered the nachos.  He didn’t really like them but I loved them.  They were really cheesy and crispy and it seemed like the chips were home-made.  My mom ordered the cheese enchilada. I kinda liked it.  It had really good, rich, creamy sauce and it had lots of cheese in it!  My dad ordered the fish tacos which I didn’t try but my dad loved them.  For the best part, dessert!  The offered a special dessert around Christmas time—cheesecake with peppermint.  It was cheesecake with a chocolate cookie crust and soft peppermint candy in the cheesecake.  When I first tried it, I said OH MY GOSH, this is good!  It was really rich, creamy, and full of pepperminty goodness.  My brother and I shared the Mexican hot chocolate, which is on the regular menu every day.  It had a good Mexican spice flavor.  it was in a tall glass mug with whipped cream and a cherry on top.  Mmmm. Delicious.  I think Ernesto’s is a great place to go if you want a tasty Mexican dinner.
